Mike fought for funding for the Shannon Community Safety Initiative which helps to reduce gang violence across the Commonwealth and create safer communities.
Mike secured funding for extended learning time, supported a 90% reimbursement from the state to build five new elementary schools, and has fought for full day kindergarten and after school programs.
Mike filed legislation that extends rehabilitation time from the current 14 days to 30 days for those suffering from addiction. He supports programs to help addicts in the recovery process reintegrate into society.
Senior and Veterans Services
Mike has always been a strong supporter of initiatives and funding for Seniors and Veterans especially for lowering prescription drug prices. He supports funding for the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, Advanced Home Care, Elder Services, and Councils on Aging. He supported the Valor Act I and II and the Welcome Home Bill for veterans.
